The Shimano Tiagra Game Reels are geared specifically to handle not only the fish but also the harsh saltwater environment. Designed specifically for chasing down game fish, this reel features a slightly darker and heavier gold anodising with a newly designed Septon power handle and a drilled drag quadrant with a drag curve that's suited to New Zealand conditions.
The heavier anodising makes these reels even more resistant to the corrosive effects of saltwater, while the click stop drag quadrant permits more precise drag adjustments. The counterbalanced handle falls easily to hand when striking a fish and makes winding easier during the course of a long fight.
Tiagra’s one piece frame are machine-cut from a aluminium tube to a thickness of 7mm. Team that up with the A-RB bearings, heavy duty stainless steel gears and a two speed shifting mechanism where the pinion and drive gears are continuously meshed.
